City Hall World Cup

We went into the City on Sunday to go to a Symphony matinee and arrived early. As we walked toward Davies Symphony Hall we came to the San Francisco City Hall where a large crowd was assembled to watch the Women’s World Cup final. We saw the first USA goal before we left and the crowd was having a great time. The Japanese answered shortly and the Japanese fans roared.

Last weekend I rode a new route (for me) out of Livermore on Mines road. On the way back we spotted this little fellow trying to cross the road.

Flora in Northern California often seem to be out of sync with what I think of as seasons. It’s January and my midwestern brain thinks that it’s winter. Hah! sez the Icelandic Poppy. Hah! say the Camilias.

.. and a new year has begun. I pushed my camera up against the glass on a downtown nightclub and saw the remnants of last night’s celebration.

Now, it’s onto new explorations in photography. As Holmes said, “The game is afoot.”

The wind scattered Aspen leaves all over much to my delight. I *think* these are the roots of an Aspen but something tells me that may not be the case.

I participated in Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk today. Our walk was from Chrissy Field to the Marina District in San Francisco. This shot was taken as fog was beginning to clear from the marina near the St. Francis Yacht Club.
