These two guys are actually about 20′ tall. Or at least the one on the left is…. They are two of a series of paintings of field workers south of Salinas California. Those are normal size pumpkins. The artist is John Cerney and the farm is called “The Farm” oddly enough.

Monarchs spend some time resting and gathering energy for the rest of their migration along the California coast. This example seems to have suffered some damage along the way.

The Monarchs are beginning to gather on the coast. The best view we has this weekend was at Natural Bridges SP in Santa Cruz. In the early moring hours, they cling to each other in an attempt to stay warm.
