These two guys are actually about 20′ tall. Or at least the one on the left is…. They are two of a series of paintings of field workers south of Salinas California. Those are normal size pumpkins. The artist is John Cerney and the farm is called “The Farm” oddly enough.

When I was in the Grand Canyon, I had the chance to try a Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS zoom. It was a bad idea. Focus is instant and sharp? Oh my, yes. Now I have to have one. Currently OOS at Adorama and B&H. Rumor sez the new one debuts in September. Maybe some used ones will show up….

A friend and photography teacher, Carol Leigh, has a fascination with rust, old cars and assorted other things. While crusing the streets of downtown Santa Fe, I saw this sign outside a gallery that immediatly caught my eye. Just outside Santa Fe New Mexico, we stopped to marvel at the big skies all around. I snapped this shot of Brigitte and though it might look nice in high contrast B&W.

Later, I mentioned to her that she was my favorite photographer. Oh, and that I liked her photographs as well….:-)

This guy was exhorting everyone at the corner approaching the KOM point on Patterson Pass. Where can I get an outfit like that? The riders are Bauke Mollema (Rabobank), Brian Vandborg (Liquigas) & Jeff Louder (BMC Racing), part of a 4 man breakaway.
