Eurasian Eagle Owl – Bubo bubo

On a recent trip through the southwest, we were fortunate enough to have been told about the Arboritum at Flagstaff. In addition to a grand display of flora they also have a raptors program. The Eurasian Eagle Owl looks much like a great horned owl but is actually larger and as the name implies, lives on throughout Europe.

  1. Your photo is beautiful, but I’m enchanted with the scientific name: Bubo bubo. Much better than Bubba bubba (found in the Texas panhandle) . . . — Carol Leigh

  2. Great picture of the owl. Love the name too.
