Why, why, WHY do we all feel compelled to photograph gulls? I do the same thing. In fact, I think I photographed a gull the same day that you did. Is it because we can get so close to them? That they’re so big and (blessedly) frame-filling? That they’re so darned white that we enjoy the exposure challenge? (Uh, “no” to that one.) What I like about yours is how the dark tree really emphasizes the “genie bottle” shape of the bird. — Carol Leigh
