Bollinger Salon light uploaded by admin.

An early morning stroll brought me past a nail salon with a very interesting wall sconce and some hanging quartz lamps. Everything else was dark. What to do? I had to take a picture…or 2

We are amused…

An early morning stroll brought me past an antique shop. As I peered into the windows, this wise fool appeared.

El capitan in B&W uploaded by admin.

This is the same photograph as the earlier post. I used perspective correction to take some of the distortion out. When I looked at the result, I thought it might be cool in B&W.

Pumping Station reflection uploaded by admin.

We went to Lake Sabrina looking for fall color but found it was all done up there. On the way back, we stopped at a small pond that seems to feed a pumping station and found this refelction. I’ve removed a few wires and distractions.

Clearing Storm over El cap uploaded by admin.

We found ourselves in long line of traffic as we came down 120 into the valley. The traffic came to a dead stop just about the entrance to 140 and stayed that way for nearly an hour and a half. How fortuitous it was as this is the scene we saw as we came into the meadow opposite El Cap. This is a 15mm lens and as such it distorts the view since I was pointing upwards.

Main St. Gerbera Daisy uploaded by admin.

From time-to-time, I find myself drawn to the style of macro photography called Botanical Dreaming. Seen on a walk downtown, this is a nice example of the genre.

American River uploaded by admin.

As we were headed to the eastern Sierras, we passed through this canyon on Hwy 50 that was the site of a devastating fire perhaps 10 years ago. I was taken by the colors of the underbrush popping out and the sky and clouds.

I took a walk mid-morning after spending the early morning near Lake Sabrina. The outskirts of Bishop are very rural and I saw these two horses browsing and liked the composition.

Bishop Creek Aspens uploaded by admin.

I’m in the eastern Sierras this week looking for some fall color. It’s spotty and many places are past their prime. Here and there you find nice small stands of aspens. Regardless, it’s a beautiful place to be.
